The Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute (HKSI) is responsible for the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Practitioners Qualifying Examination.
If you want to register for the HKSI LE exam, you can follow the steps below:
Register an account on the HKSI official website.
Go to the HKSI website —> Click on “Login” in the top right corner.
Enter the “Login” page; existing users can log in directly;
New users select “Activate/Create User”:
Please enter your personal information and ensure it is accurate. Click “Agree and Continue”. You will receive a confirmation email from HKSI. Click on the “First-time Login Link” to set up a username and password, and you will be successfully registered.
2. Register for the HKSI LE exam.
Log in to your personal account page on the HKSI website. Select “Enroll” on the right side.
Click “Select Exam” —> Choose “Securities and Futures Practitioners Exam”
Enter the page for all qualifying exam papers —> Select the exam you want to take, such as HKSI LE Paper 1, choose Paper 1, and click “Search”;
Enter the “Exam Date” page:
You can view the exam dates and whether there are still spots available on this page.
Please note that “Traditional Chinese” and “English” here do not refer to Chinese or English exam questions but rather the operating interface language during the exam.
The exam questions themselves are in both Chinese and English.
Choose an exam date with available spots and “Add to Cart”
3. Pay the corresponding exam fee.
Click “Checkout” and enter your personal identification information. Please note that if you do not have a Hong Kong ID card, you need to provide passport information.
Click “Start Payment”
HKSI accepts the following online payment methods:
American Express credit card, Visa card, Mastercard, Alipay, WeChat Pay, PPS, and UnionPay.
Due to the potential for disputes, HKSI strongly discourages users from using third-party credit cards for payment.
You can directly use WeChat Pay, scan the QR code for payment, and complete the registration.
How do I know if I have successfully registered?
Upon payment completion, HKSI will send a confirmation email to your registered email address. You can also check under “Selected Upcoming Activities” in your HKSI personal account page.
Can I register for multiple exams, training courses, and activities at once?
Yes. You can add multiple different types of activities to your cart and complete the checkout process within 15 minutes. Please note that if the checkout process takes more than 15 minutes, you will need to re-register.
How to download the study guide?
You can check under “Selected Upcoming Activities” in your HKSI personal account page.
Do I need to print the admission ticket for the exam?
If you are taking a written exam, you can download and print the admission ticket for the registered exam from the “Selected Upcoming Activities” section in your HKSI personal account page starting from 3 working days before the exam until the exam day. You must bring the admission ticket and identification document on the exam day and arrive at the test center on time.
If you are taking a computer-based exam, there is no need to print the admission ticket. Simply bring your identification document on the day of the exam and arrive at the test center on time.
Can I cancel an exam I have registered for?
You can cancel the registered Securities and Futures Practitioners Qualification Exam and request a refund before the registration deadline.
HKSI will charge an administrative fee of HKD 400 for each exam paper per exam session.
Please note that canceling the exam application after the application deadline will not be accepted.
For example, for an exam held on April 20, 2023, the registration deadline is April 19, 2023.
If you want to cancel the exam, you must do so before April 19. Cancellation requests on or after April 19 will not be processed or refunded by HKSI.
How do I get a refund?
If you paid the registration fee in cash or through Easy Pay Service (EPS), the relevant fee will be refunded in the form of a check and sent by registered mail to the registered address of the relevant application.
If you paid through other acceptable payment methods, the refund arrangement will be the same as the payment method. For example, if you paid the exam fee through WeChat, the refund will be directly returned to your WeChat.
Refunds will be processed within 28 working days.
When can I know my exam results?
Computer-based exam: Approximately 2 hours after the exam.
Written exam: Approximately 8 working days after the exam.
Securities and Futures Practitioners Qualification Exams held in Mainland China, Taiwan, and Macau: Approximately 14 working days after the exam.
Where can I view my exam results?
You can download and/or print the exam result notification and exam certificate within one year of the exam date in the “Records” section of your HKSI personal account page.
How can I get an official receipt for the registration fee?
Official receipts for exams/training courses/activities registered on or after September 27, 2017, can be downloaded from the “Receipts” section in your HKSI personal page.
If you need a printed copy of an official receipt issued by HKSI, HKSI will charge a service/administrative fee of HKD 100 per receipt.
